AI Form Generator: Creating Forms in Seconds

The AI Form Generator is a sophisticated module within the Calculated Fields Form plugin that automates the creation of entire form structures through natural language processing.

User Workflow and Implementation

The process for generating a new form is designed to be user-friendly and involves a streamlined five-step protocol:

  1. Initialization: Users navigate to the "Calculated Fields Form" menu, select "Add New," and choose the AI Form Generator option.
  2. Users Selects AI Provider and Model: The plugin supporst the AI Providers: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google (Gemini), MiniMax, Kimi (Moonshot AI), DeepSeek, and AI providers configured via WordPress connectors.
  3. Prompting: The user describes the desired form in plain text (e.g., "Generate a contact form").
  4. Generation: Upon clicking the "Generate" button, the AI model interprets the request and builds the form structure [1].
  5. Deployment: A preview of the generated form is displayed, which the user can immediately implement by clicking the "Use it" button, or describe form modifications.

AI Assistant Module

The AI Assistant is a module within the Calculated Fields Form plugin designed to make web development more accessible by helping users build forms and manage complex tasks, such as configuring mathematical equations, generate custom HTML structures in HTML Content fields. Personalize the form design.

Technical Architecture: Local and Cloud Inference

Unlike many AI tools that require external servers, the AI Assistant cover both alternatives. User can select between privacy and cost-efficiency through browser-based processing, or cloud inference for complex operations.

  • Local Processing: All inference runs directly in the user’s web browser, ensuring enhanced privacy and reduced server dependency. However, this approach relies on a compact AI model and may require additional local device resources for optimal performance.
  • Cloud Inference: Connects with external AI providers to deliver advanced inference capabilities. Supported providers include Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google (Gemini), MiniMax, Kimi (Moonshot AI), DeepSeek, as well as additional AI services configured through WordPress connectors.

Key Functionalities

The module serves as a specialized support tool for technical form configuration:

  • Equation Generation: The assistant is primarily used to set up complex equations, such as calculating service costs based on user input.
  • HTML Generation: Generates clean HTML code for use within HTML Content fields, enabling seamless integration and easy copy-and-paste reuse of dynamic layouts and logic.
  • Personalize Form Design: The AI automatically generates tailored style definitions and CSS rules, allowing you to instantly customize the visual appearance of your form layout and input controls for a polished, on-brand look — without writing a single line of code.
  • Choices Generation: Automatically generate options for radio buttons, checkboxes, and dropdown fields, saving time by eliminating repetitive manual entry and ensuring uniform, error-free lists.

Usage Protocol

To utilize the AI Assistant for development support, follow these steps:

  1. Access: Click the AI button located in the top bar of the plugin or within specific field configuration sections (such as "Set Equation").
  2. Loading: Wait for the assistant to finish loading the AI model into the browser for browser inference. Or select and configure a cloud AI provider.
  3. Prompting: Enter a natural language description of the required equation or logic into the wizard window.
  4. Execution: Press the send button to receive a generated solution tailored to the form's fields.
  5. Validation: Review the response for accuracy, as AI models may occasionally provide non-optimal answers, then copy and paste the logic into the field configuration.

Filtering Form Entries with AI

The AI Filter allows you to search and filter form entries using natural language. Instead of relying only on predefined filters, such as the form name or a date range, you can describe the information you are looking for, and the selected AI model will generate the corresponding filter automatically.

  1. Access: Open the Entries section from the Calculated Fields Form menu and click the Use AI Filter button.
  2. Users Selects AI Provider and Model: Select the AI model you want to use from the list of configured models.
  3. Prompting: Once selected, describe in natural language the entries you want to retrieve.
  4. Filtering: The AI model will interpret your request and generate the corresponding search filter automatically.

The generated filter is applied to the entries list, allowing you to locate submissions based on the information entered by users, without having to manually define filtering conditions.

Agentic AI Integration: Connecting External AI Agents via MCP

The Agentic AI Integration for Calculated Fields Form allows external AI agents to work directly with your forms and their collected data.

With this integration, you can use an external AI agent to create new forms using natural language, preview the generated forms, and import them directly into the Calculated Fields Form Builder. You can also give the agent access to your form submissions, allowing it to analyze collected data, answer questions, identify trends, and generate reports in different formats.

This provides a new way to work with Calculated Fields Form through the AI tools you already use, extending the capabilities of the plugin beyond its own interface.

Overview of Agentic Capabilities

  • Form Generation: Ask an external AI agent to create new Calculated Fields Form forms using natural language. The generated forms can be previewed and imported directly into the Form Builder for further review and customization.
  • Submission Access: External AI agents can securely access submission data collected by your forms.
  • Data Analysis: Ask the AI agent questions about your submissions, request summaries, identify trends, and extract useful information from your collected data.
  • Reports and Exports: The agent can analyze submission data and generate reports or export the results in formats such as HTML and CSV, as well as other formats supported by the agent.
  • Multiple AI Agents: The integration can be used with Open Code, Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI agents that support MCP (Model Context Protocol).
  • Natural Language: You can communicate with the AI agent using natural language, including languages other than English.

Creating Forms with an AI Agent

Once the connection is configured, you can ask the external AI agent to create a form simply by describing what you need.

For example, you can specify the fields, options, calculations, and other functionality required for your form. The AI agent generates the form and provides a preview so you can review the result before importing it into Calculated Fields Form.

If the generated form meets your requirements, you can import it directly into the Form Builder, where you can review its configuration, make any necessary changes, and prepare it for use on your website.

Working with Form Submissions

The same connection can also be used to work with the data collected by your forms.

  • Direct Access: Open the AI application and navigate to the project directory containing the configuration file. The agent will then be able to access the submission data available through the integration.
  • Natural Language Queries: Ask questions about your submissions or request specific information and summaries using natural language.
  • Data Analysis: The AI agent can analyze your collected data, identify patterns and trends, and provide insights based on the submissions.
  • Automated Reports: Request reports based on your submission data and have the agent generate them in formats such as HTML or CSV, depending on your requirements.
